Our trip to California~2001
We had to start off in Reno just to see if we could win a bit for our trip. No such luck!
We stayed at Jack London Square and really enjoyed it.
The first night we got a wonderful dinner and tour of the area. Thanks JM :)
Such great fun .... meeting someone after so many years!
The tour of Alcatraz shared many of its secrets and showed crumbling walls.
A ferry trip took us under the Golden Gate Bridge and along the coast of San Francisco.
Sunset was so beautiful over the San Francisco Bay.
No trip to San Francisco would be complete without a ride through the city on the cable car.
It was well worth the trip down the 308 steps to visit the Point Reyes lighthouse!
The lighthouse still is working with the beautifully polished antique parts. This light station was first built in 1870.

The ocean waves were so beautiful on North Beach.
Drake Beach was so quiet and a perfect place to enjoy the ocean.
I had such fun photographing the ocean in all lights.

We had to stop by the Jelly Belly Factory to get some of the yummy Belly Flops!
David found a jukebox that really played Jelly Belly Candies
...then off to Napa Valley.... We just had to try a bit of their best wine!
Thanks to John and Linda, we got to visit the best of the wine country. :)
Lee found the trip so relaxing!
An early start gave us some awesome colors as we headed into Nevada.
As our trip neared the end, we found an interesting art sculpture along the highway!
...and we still returned home in time to enjoy a bit of fall in our own backyard!
