Gulf Shores, Alabama
Spring ~ 2013
Off to New Orleans and then on to Gulf Shores, Alabama and warmer weather!!
We hope.....
Leaving was quite the experience... our flights were all late and after finally getting to Denver we were greeted with more snow and ground blizzards. We watched as the snow plows cleared the runways as we were being deiced. We could not see very far... and felt sorry for the guys trying to do our luggage.
We woke the first morning to fog.... but the sunrises and sunsets were spectacular!
We found our penthouse very nice... and the views were fantastic. We were on the next to the top floor... made for a long elevator ride.... but nice once we got there....
and the elevator never did stop working!!! :)
The beaches were so white.. the sand so fine....
The parasailers and kites were fun to watch. I still think Linda and I need to give parasailing a try! :)
The birds were up close and personal...... watch out Linda... I think they are eyeing your hair!
Linda could be found every evening busy in the kitchen!
March 27th was a full moon.... it was a clear night ..... perfect for seeing the moon rise over the gulf.
A drive up the coast.... brought us to a beautiful area
with a great boardwalk to the beach.
We thought the houses along the road looked like an Easter basket full of colorful eggs!
We took a walk the last day to a cute little open air diner....and walked back through part of the village.
Friday the temperatures went up.... and the beach crowd arrived!
No no..... it can't be time to go already!
.....as the birds wish us a safe trip home and hope we return some day! :)
